I can't believe this book didn't come to mind earlier, especially during this time of quarantine!

Aristocrat Count Alexander Rostov is sentenced to house arrest for the rest of his life, in the attic of a hotel outside the Kremlin during the Bolshevik Revolution. As decades of the outside world pass him by, his life indoors grows exponentially. Towles is an amazing writer and story teller. You will be transported. A modern day classic!
